While there’s no consensus on how often it should be done, experts agree that hiring the wrong air duct cleaner is more likely to clean out your pocketbook than your vents. A Dublin, Ohio member weighs in about his experience, as well.

The only difference between an air duct cleaning company and a indoor air quality company and entire air ventilation cleaning company is the ducts are only a 1/3 of the of a clean ventilation system.

THE AIR DUCT CLEAN COMPANY MUST AND SHALL HAVE A CAMCORDER FOR SIGHT AS WELL AS TRIM OUT VENTS WITH GOLD OR SILVER PACKAGES.

what are agitation tools. Some pictures would be helpful. All my guys used was a little pressure hose like you'd use to fill up your auto's tires.

I am the owner of Coit Cleaning and Restoration. We clean Air Ducts. We adhear to NADCA standards. We have a short video explaining how we clean air ducts on our web site, www.coit.com. There are home owners that are diligent about maintaining proper filtration for their HVAC system. They may never need air duct cleaning, however, we find many homes and offices where the filtration has not been acceptable. Flex duct may be cleaned utilizing negative air flow and an air sweep agitation system. We've found this approach to be effective while gentle.

I'm leery of professional associations like this, the costs to promote the value of their members is passed to us. duct cleaning is fairly simple, I would rather just see criteria here rather than a NADCA plug, will your duct cleaner do X, Y, and Z?

What kind of cleaning can you have done if your ducts are more like foil? They making a micro fibre tool yet?

How about some commentary about whether or not the air ducts even need cleaning?

After all, there's a filter on the air intake which takes out all but the smallest dust particles.
